Taaibos Bush Lodge proudly promotes the Nourish foundation as one of the organisations that really makes a huge difference in our community.

Nourish is a community development project located in rural South Africa. Nourish educates children, provides meals, plants veggies and trees and helps to recycle. This is all done through Nourish Eco Village. Do you want to see what Nourish does and get involved? There are two great options:

VILLAGE WALKING TOUR
Walk through the local village with a private guide from Sigagule, for a better understanding about his community, the Shangaan culture, and traditional beliefs and folklore. The duration is 2.5-3 hours. You will have the chance to meet one of the grannies who will show you their traditional mat weaving skills, learnt generation after generation. After that, you will deserve a special treat, tasting her home made peanut butter!!

Your guide will share stories about beliefs, lifestyles, culture and social dynamics as you walk through the village giving you deeper insight into life in rural Africa. You will finish the tour at a traditional healer (Sangoma) who will explain his age old trade. After all this you will have the opportunity to taste a local meal and a traditional beer.

IMMERSION TOUR
Spend a few hours immersed in the day-to-day operations of a grassroots Eco Village. The duration is 2.5-3 hours. Get to learn about the Nourish Eco Village projects, enjoy a mini permaculture workshop, lend a hand harvesting vegetables for the feeding scheme, help cook the children’s afternoon meal, spend time playing or reading in the Creche, and get a tour around the Eco village with one of their knowledgeable and passionate staff. Specific day to day activities may vary depending on the time of day.
